Karen and Mark are the best hosts ever. Excellent service not regrets staying there. We had car issues they went all out to assist. Breakfast great. Your place is stunning!! Oh my Most impressed with the décor, bedding, dinner, breakfast and warm homely welcome. In a word We were greeted by a very friendly couple. Immediate laughs all around. The room was “Hospitality personified” I have always felt that to judge accommodation effectively, you must look at the details. It is the small touches, the little unsaid luxuries which are added, yet not required, which turn a good hotel into an exceptional one. And so it is with DeKotzenhof guest house. The fine attention to detail combined with one of the friendliest management/owner teams I have encountered make this my exclusive recommendation if staying in the Wakkerstroom area. The rooms are tastefully decorated in an olde worlde style with all the usual facilities one would expect of a luxury establishment without the exorbitant price tag. Little added touches like complimentary sherry, rusks with your coffee station and a snack basket offered on an honesty system are just a few reasons why this guest houses rises above the competition. The breakfast is country style and is delicious and plentiful. The home made ‘fresh from the oven’ muffins were a treat every morning. The property has a small putt putt course for those so inclined along with a little shop offering home crafted items, both utensils and food. The owners Karen and Mark take pride not only in their guest house but also in the area and are eager to help guests maximize their time with useful tips and hints. They seem to have a genuine interest in the well being of their guests and nothing seems to be too much trouble.
